Father Paul never cared about his wealth. He was an amazing athlete and an academic who had a good future in both. His decision on becoming a monk was not taken well by his father who really wanted to see him as a graduate. He, eventually, persuaded his father and went on to become a priest.

While he was searching for a monastery, he came to know St. Gregory’s Abbey and school as one of the interesting places where he would be able to play varsity sports as well as pursue his priestly vocation. He then decided to leave behind his friends and family and venture to the prairies of Oklahoma. He came to St. Gregory’s High School in 1950. At that time, he was just fifteen years old, but he was guided by his teachers and religious superiors to fulfill his ambition to become a priest.

Father Paul never believed in the difference between rich and poor. Everyone was equal in his eyes. He treats everyone fairly. He preaches everyone to be the same and help improve humanity as much as possible.

Being rich or poor is not what defines you. Rich is not limited to wealth. Your kindness, your effort towards the betterment of the society and your attitude towards others defines how rich you are.

Do not let your social and wealth status let you down in life.

It is never too late to do anything. All you need is the determination and hard work; success will follow you.

We at UOHHC, follow our founder’s values and we preach humanity more than anything.
